Kwame Nkrumah was the first President of Ghana. Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum is the last resting place of the first President of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. It is dedicated to him for helping Ghana (then the Gold Coast) gain its independence from Britain on March 6, 19957. Ghana was the first country in Africa to gain its independence from Britain and the 2nd (after India) in the British Empire. |
